mation service of AMSAT North America, The Radio Amateur Satellite
Corporation. ANS publishes news related to Amateur Radio in Space
including reports on the activities of a worldwide group of Amateur
Radio operators who share an active interest in designing, building,
launching and communicating through analog and digital Amateur Radio
satellites.

Z-Sat Frequency Coordination Submitted to IARU

AMSAT-UK reported that the IARU has received a frequency coordination
request from the Komaki Amateur Radio SATCOM Club in Japan for Z-Sat
50kg microsat with two missions:

(1) Mission: BBS service Exchanging messages between amateurs
all over the world in amateur service. Any amateur can use
the space station like a BBS by uploading and downloading
messages. The specific steps includes: An amateur radio
station transmits messages to the space station for indiv-
idual/public and these messages are stored in the space
station. Another amateur radio station transmits a specific
message to the space station and the space station transmits
a reply message whether any message to him exists or not.
If exists, the amateur radio station can receive the message
by transmitting a specific message to the space station.
Frequency band: – UPLINK : 435-438 MHz
DOWNLINK : 145-146 MHz

Fox-1D was successfully launched at 03:59 UTC on the PSLV-C40 mission
from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, India. UA9UIZ received
and uploaded the first telemetry to AMSAT servers at 05:28 UTC.
Initial telemetry values appear nominal.

AMSAT North America has issued a statement formally designating
Fox-1D as AO-92:

Fox-1D, a 1U CubeSat, is the third of AMSAT’s five Fox-1 CubeSats
to reach orbit, being preceded by AO-85 (Fox-1A) and AO-91 (RadFxSat/
Fox-1B). Fox-1D carries the Fox-1 U/v FM transponder, with an uplink
of 435.350 MHz (67.0 Hz CTCSS) and a downlink of 145.880 MHz. In addi-
tion, Fox-1D carries several university experiments, including a MEMS
gyro from Pennsylvania State University-Erie, a camera from Virginia
Tech, and the University of Iowa’s HERCI (High Energy Radiation Cube-
Sat Instrument) radiation mapping experiment. Fox-1D also carries
the AMSAT L-Band Downshifter experiment which enables the FM trans-
ponder to be switched to utilize an uplink of 1267.350 MHz (67.0 Hz
CTCSS).

Fox-1D was sent aloft as a secondary payload on the Indian Space
Research Organisation (ISRO)’s PSLV-XL rocket as part of the PSLV-C40
mission. Fox-1D was one of thirty-one satellites successfully deploy-
ed on this launch.

Since Fox-1D has met all of the qualifications necessary to receive
an OSCAR number, I, by the authority vested in me by the AMSAT
President,
do hereby confer on this satellite the designation AMSAT-OSCAR 92 or
AO-92. I join amateur radio operators in the U.S. and around the
world
in wishing AO-92 a long and successful life in both its amateur and
scientific missions.

I, along with the rest of the amateur community, congratulate all
of the volunteers who worked so diligently to construct, test and
prepare for launch the newest amateur radio satellite.

Indian government, and 30 other payloads.”

歷史上的今天 首架F-15飛行時數達一萬小時

據美國空軍推特今日推文,2012年1月13日,美軍序號89-0487的麥克唐納‧道格拉斯(現為波音)F-15E-47-MC「打擊鷹」戰機成為第一架累積飛行時數達一萬小時的F-15。

F-15E打擊鷹戰機#487號機於1990年11月3日服役,隸屬第455航空遠征聯隊(455th Air Expeditionary Wing),當時部署於阿富汗巴格拉姆空軍基地(Bagram Air Field)。當這架F-15E達到一萬小時時,還有許多F-15A及F-15C鷹式戰機的飛行時數尚未達到一萬小時,因此#487號機不僅是第一架達成一萬小時的F-15E,更是F-15A/B/C/D/E各次型中第一架達到一萬小時的F-15 。

該機曾參與沙漠風暴(Desert Storm)、慎重武力行動(Deliberate Guard)、北方守望(Northern Watch)、南方守望(Southern Watch)、伊拉克自由行動(Iraqi Freedom)、持久自由行動(Enduring Freedom)。

沙漠風暴是F-15E的首次參戰。1991年2月14日,#487號由第4戰鬥機聯隊第335戰鬥機中隊的柏奈特(Richard Bennett)上尉駕駛(代號TB),巴基(Dan Bakke)上尉(代號Chewie)為後座武器官(Weapons System Officer, WSO)。創下世界首例使用GBU-10雷射導引「炸彈」擊毀伊拉克軍的Mi-24「慈鹿」式直昇機的紀錄。

第335遠征飛行中隊(Expeditionary Flying Squadron)的指揮官默勒(David Moeller)中校,是當年時任#487號機的武器官。作為一萬小時里程碑的其中一位貢獻者,他選擇把達成第一萬小時的飛行任務讓給同單位的飛行員博登海默(Ryan Bodenheimer)少尉及武器官蕭特(Erin Short)少尉,他們兩人是由北卡羅來納州的西摩強森空軍基地(Seymour-Johnson AFB)前進部署至阿富汗。.

博登海默中校現為美國空軍「雷鳥」特技小組2號機飛行員,飛行時數餘1,400小時,其中超過300小時戰鬥時數。

美軍退役少將德圖拉(Dave Deptula)曾在「沙漠之盾」行動中駕駛F-15,而他的兒子則在「伊拉克自由」行動中駕駛同一架F-15! (非#487號機)

和F-16另外標示批次(Block)不同,F-15是直接標示在型號後方,美軍的F-15E自是第41批次(1986財政年度)起至第63批次(2001財年)。

在台美人:「台獨」是假議題 美國一定不會幫忙!

陸官媒日前點名將台灣列為「國家」的外商,達美、美敦力、ZARA被迫致歉,並修改網站。對此,美籍老師畢靜翰說,他突然意識到一件事情:「台獨」是一個假議題,甚至直指台灣若宣布獨立,美國一定不會幫忙!

畢靜翰在臉書表示,「台獨」是一個假議題,並不是說台灣無法變成一個獨立的國家,也不是說認真討論這個問題沒有意義,而是「大家真的認真在想這件事情嗎?」

即使有的國家私底下默默地把中華民國當一個國家看待,但表面上仍會配合中國的各種「打壓」要求,譬如說今天的Zara事件。畢靜翰直言,無論是華獨或台獨,這些基本上都是紙上談兵,因為大家好像都忽略了真的要實現這些事情背後的前提、門檻和代價。

1.如果中華民國宣布獨立(或換了一個政府「建國」),按照美國的政策,美國會插著腰,搖搖頭,默默地讓中國把台灣吞掉。而且,因為這種動作會動搖歐美日中的經濟,也會對台灣相當不滿。如果台灣真要獨立的話,就要自己跟中國搏鬥,美國不會插手,也不會幫忙。

2.台灣的軍隊目前無法跟中國一對一打仗,若其他國家沒有介入,中國可以慢慢地從遠處把台灣的軍艦和戰鬥機弄掉,也可以在第一時間用飛彈攻擊台灣的大城市。

3.中華民國的軍隊真的是中華民國的軍隊,瀰漫著一整個體制的愛國意識和認同感,跟台獨的牴觸很多,如果要宣布獨立,沒有一個願意積極幫忙的軍隊,這件事情是不可能的。

4.宣布獨立的話,一定不會有美國的幫忙,也很可能不會有中華民國軍隊的協助與配合(畢竟是想要廢掉他們的政府…)。

畢靜翰點出,支持獨立的人,必須好好地想想這些問題:如果沒美國的話,要如何面對?要獨立就等於要開戰,所以台灣需要付出多少代價?(金錢,人命等),如果軍隊不想配合,要如何讓它配合呢?如果跟中國開戰之後,世界其他的國家依然不承認新的政府(它們不會),要如何面對被視為第二個北韓這件事?如果要建國,這個國家會是個什麼樣的國家?加上大家都不喜歡彼此,甚至都恨彼此,大家有辦法聯手建立一個新國家嗎?要如何保證不會變成一個獨裁者的國家呢?要如何決定要不要獨立?

而「要如何決定要不要獨立?」這點很重要,如果沒有辦法說服大多數的人(65%以上),如果大家沒有意願積極地配合這件事情,就算前面的問題都奇蹟般地解決了,獨立這事依然會失敗。

畢靜翰表示,基本上討論獨立這議題的時候,大家的焦點都是要扯掉什麼東西,要廢除什麼東西,而不是要建立或創造什麼。口口聲聲要建國,但鬧革命之後要建立什麼樣的政府,我想大家都沒有聽過任何比較具體的想法。

畢靜翰也坦言,其實台獨這議題通常都是用來嚇人,讓他們來投票(不管是支持或反對),對於認真考慮這個議題,討論要如何進行,或討論有沒有進行的可能性,這種討論並不是社會的主流。而「統一」的議題,反而是真議題,因為中國本來就有長期的計畫,軍事的條件,其他國家(表面上)的協助,人民的團結,還有絕對的決心,這些都是台灣/中華民國所沒有的。「目前,中華民國只有它一直都有的那個灰色地帶。」
